Navigation is one of the most important parts of any user interface. It is crucial that a user has easy access to an app’s main navigation. Apps often have lots of scrollable content that makes it hard for a user to access the navigation. This is especially true for apps that incorporate infinite scroll. Incorporating sticky navigation in these situations can be greatly beneficial to user experience.
A sticky nav allows access to the main menu anytime while on the web page. The implementation usually is incorporated on the top, side, or bottom where it stays in place while a user scrolls.
Sticky navs have been proven to boost navigational speed and increase the overall desirability of an app. However, it can also be distracting and make the interface look cluttered.
